The flavor follows almost exactly, with the sweetnees winning out over the hop bitterness. The color is red/brown, small head. The mouthfeel is medium thickness. The finish is mostly sweet, slight piney hops. Decent, not outstanding. KyotoLefty (1465), Kyoto, Japan

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Bottle. Moderate malt aroma of roasted, light pine and dough for the hops and yeast, with hints of toffee and pepper. Head is average size, frothy, off-white with fair lacing and good legs, and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear deep mahogany. Flavor is lightly acidic to start, then finishes faintly sweet and lightly acidic. Palate is light to medium, watery, with a lively carbonation and finishes moderately dry. This Amber Ale has a nice hoppy side to it. BroSpud (612), , Massachusetts, USA
