Sweet caramel malt with light floral hops, and musty basement. In mouth, sweet malt with notes of oxidation, and light surranated hops, again rather musty, with pinhey quality. Medium bodied. Overall, quite nice if a bit past its prime. Bottle from Piscator, from MLCB. Thanks Kris. jcwattsrugger (5567), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is citrus hops, sweet. Taste is sweet caramel malt, light citrus hops. Overall mild beer that the hops don’t quite balance with the malt. Light mouthfeel. OK carbonation. jefcon (1007), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 23, 2006 Dry aromas -- leafy, piney and a little raisin on the nose. Bittering hops and backing malts are in balance, but the effect isn’t overwhelming. Palate is unexciting after the intial, weak bite of hops. A clean beer, but not much to distinguish it. eaglefan538 (2399), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 11, 2006 Cool bottle, but an average ordinary pale ale to me. Poured a pale yellow color with some haze and a small head. The lacing was minimal for the style. The aroma was light West Coast hops: some citrus and pine. The flavor followed suit with a pretty weak body. Citrus stood out the most for me. Mouthfeel was fairly light. presario (3001), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 6, 2006 First sniff is rather strong. Settles down to a sweet grapefruit aroma. Almost watery. The malt is indeed undercover. Flavour is a delicate sweetness and then the hops. A waterered down Ale. Miksu (2232), Jyväskylä, Finland
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 31, 2006 Bottle. Deep golden color with thin head. Floral, citrusy and raisiny hop aroma with some tarness. Citrusy, fruity, tart, sweetish and honeyish flavor with hints of cranberry. The finish is dryer and more bitter with tart citrusy flavor. rangerbrad (1), Kingsburg, California, USA does not count | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 2, 2006 This is a really nice pale ale. Whne poured into my glass it did not have much of a head, but was a nice rich yellow color. A lot lighter than many other pale ales. The smell was a nice light hoppy smell with a slight hint of malt.
The taste was really good, a nice hoppy flavor that was balance perfectly with the malt. This was a nice crisp beer that had more hops than most other pale ales. The mouthfeel was good, a little thin for my taste.
Over all a great pale ale that I will buy again. WORTH A TRY!!!! redave (135), squaw valley, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 29, 2006 Straw colored, fluffy white head, fair lace down the sides of the glass, nice aroma. Seems pretty consistant for this style. Nice strong hops with balanced hops. I have enjoyed all of the Speakeasy offerings. And this one fits right in. Great standard pale ale, [when a killer IPA or DIPA is needed]
