| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 8, 2008 12 oz bottle. Poured a cloudy orange color with thin white head. Sweet caramel and slight floral aroma. Flavor is sweet, caramel malt flavors balanced very nicely by the hops. Perhaps a little fizzy but that is a minor quibble. Really nice pale ale. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 24, 2008 Nice, sweet and sticky APA that I really enjoyed. No new trails blazed with this. It’s just your basic hop-focused West Coast ale. Very nice. SamGamgee (1469), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 19, 2008 12oz bottle. Deep gold with a hint of orange colored body with some lasting foam. Quite floral, citrusy, and slightly tropical aroma, with an underlying honey sweetness. The flavor has a sweet hooney and bread-like maltiness, with hop flavors of grapefruit peel and very light pine needles, but lacks much hop bitterness. The body feels full and chewy-- a little more than I would like. It brings down the drinkability a little. Nice flavors, but a little leaner and crisper, and I would enjoy it a little more. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 14, 2008 12 oz bottle. Very pale straw colour. Thin white head. Aroma is of sweet caramel malt, soft cookie dough sweetness and a nice light citrus/grapefruit hoppiness. Malts remind me of Flying Dog, but the hops are substantially brighter. Grapefruit and doughy malt flavour. Good balance. It’s on the sweet malty side of the APA category, but it’s quite nice nonetheless. DuffMan (2774), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 10, 2008 Hazy golden yellow. Less fruity, more grassy than the amber, a touch vegetal. Less sweet and more bitter than the amber. Nice, but the amber outshone this by far. GeneralGao (3072), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 9, 2008 12oz bottle. Subdued aromas of caramel, flowers, and steeping barley. There were also whiffs of pineapple and mango. Poured a clear medium orange color. The head was soapy, white, and reduced to a thin film after a minute or so. Light to medium bodied with malty caramel and citrusy hop flavors. Dry with ample carbonation. Decent beer. chicagodri (1074), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 29, 2008 Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Medium body, nice hop aroma. Nice balance, the malt does a good job against the citrus hops. A little bit of bitterness at the end of the drink. Nothing amazing, but a solid beer. I could see drinking multiple of these. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 4, 2008 Poured amber from the 12 ounce bottle with a fair amount of cream colored head. Lots of lacings. Aroma is more pronounced than most of this type.
Taste is citrus hops with a well balanced amount of malts. One of the best in that regard. I would rate this near the top of the session APAs. Hop bandits will not be impressed but I always enjoy a brew with perfect hops to malts ratio. Will be consuming more of this when I can find it.
