IrishBoy (2685), Bakersfield, California, USA Oct 30, 2009 12 oz bottle from Sandy’s Liquors. Nose of grassy hops, pastey grain, and a minor amount of banana ester. Lightly hazy yellow with a medium pale yellow head. Flavor is a light pepperiness, light sweetness and a hint of background bitterness. As much as I loved the way the Speakeasy guys treated us during the RBSG this beer just doesn’t speak to my palate! DuffMan (2719), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Oct 26, 2009 On tap at 4th Street in SF.Clear golden, averag white head. Sweet fruity aroma, pears and bananas come to mind. Sweet grainy palate, vague fruit and spice notes in there, low bitterness. Not a lot of wheat character, but tasty. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Sep 4, 2009 Tap at Rattle N Hum. Pale golden-amber pour. The nose has a lot of rotted peach sweetness along with a light spiciness. A touch of bready malts with some light bubble gum towards the back. It finishes surprisingly clean, considering how estery it is. Very lean bitterness on the back. I like it even though it has some flaws. Sessionable. blipp (1630), Newark, New Jersey, USA Sep 2, 2009 Draft. Pours clear gold with a white head. Grainy aroma with a mild honey like sweetness. The flavor is wheaty/grainy, with a touch of sweetness and a hint of citrus. An average session wheat ale. PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Sep 1, 2009 Tap at Rattle n Hum: Hazy light golden with a fading white head. Zesty lemon notes in the aroma with a hint of wheat grains, lavender and mild herbal honey. Light body, simple flavor with a cereal grain note and a wheaty crispness and a light herbal lemon note. A simple session. joeneugs (282), Livermore, California, USA Aug 20, 2009 Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is very wheaty with a hInt of fruit. The taste is dry with wheat, soap and a hint of apples. Very thin and watery. Not one of my favorites in this style. SamGamgee (1396), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Aug 4, 2009 12oz bottle. Light clear yellow with a small white head. Sweet grainy aroma with lots of orange and some spice. Sweet and orangey flavor with a lightly spicy and sweet finish. Light and prickly. Just kind of an odd mix of wit spices without the yeast and good wheat character. Not too bad, but they need to do more than dip there feet in the style to make a beer I want to come back to. beersearcher (203), Glendale, California, USA Aug 2, 2009 Nice sweet and fruity wheat beer. Wheat not to evident but like Widmer Drifter very quaffable especially when you want something sweet but light.
