Lemon aromas and flavors, coriander and what smells like cumin. I really like the yeast. Is this a Belgian yeast? Light and refreshing. Slightly sweet. This is definitely a usable beer. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 24, 2008 Updated: Apr 30, 20094/23/08 From draught sample bottle. Aroma is surprisingly high in fruity esters and there’s a faint spicy phenol with a strong german-like banana tone. Appearance is very clear light yellow with no head, much like a light lager. Flavor is light and bready with classic wheat sweet/sourness, and just a bit of esters shining through for complexity. Bittering from what seems to be noble hops comes through lightly in the finish Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a sharp medium carb bite. Overall, not what you’d expect from an American wheat beer, drawing on bavarian flavors you don’t normally see popping up. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 11, 2008 Pours straw gold with a light haze to it. Soft white head caps off the body, emitting spicy citrus and wheat fumes with a light lemon quality. Palate is soft at first, but finishes crisply, the spiciness caught between the bland american wheats and the estery german varieties. This pulled a nice balance together, impressionable and refreshing, one of the better american wheats i’ve had in a while. beersearcher (257), Glendale, California, USA
