Hand-pulled cask. Dark as pitch, only covered by a few bubbles on the top. Sweet, dark malty aroma with notes of coffee. Complex flavour with a core of tart cherry and late fruits woven into a dark malty backbone with hints of anise. Bittersweet endnotes. Well bodied ale.
This rating completes my drinking sessions at The Great British Beer Festival. Great festival with splendid arranged rating conditions - I love to return in 2009! (09.08.2008).

Botella. Thanks to Jan/Charlotte. Deep dark brown colour. Medium beige head. Aroma of soft well roasted malt, dark fruits and dark chocolate. Good mouthfeel. The flavour i s sweet with a good roasted maltiness with chocolate, some coffee and bit of smoke.

[thank you, fonefan/Brugsmansia]
Pours deep red, almost black. A small, fizzy, off-white head on top. Very sweet arom, lightly roasted, some milk chocolate and lots of brown sugar. Low carbonation, a bit thin. Flavour is very sugary, some mild roastiness to balance. Far too sweet for me.
