Nice nose of smoked malts, peat, barbecued meats. Some toffee and caramel as well as a little roast. Pours dark amber with a thin quickly dissipating head. Smoke initially, barbecue, campfire, then some decent underlying sweet malty notes that add a balance to the up front smokiness. A little dark fruit and roast. Lingering dry mouth feel. Smooth and pleasant to drink, Don’t know why this one was rated so poorly, perhaps they got their shit together recently?

On draught at the brewery. Aroma is dried dark fruit forward followed by caramel malt and no hop character. Appearance is clear dark brown with a low off-white head. Flavor is also dried dark fruit forward with caramel and roast malt. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carb bite. Overall, the fruit notes are interesting, but not quite to style at this high of a level.

Bright dark brown. Buttery...tart apples...thin...huh? Malts are barely there amidst these off flavours. A brewpub should know better than to serve something like this to a paying customer. Unforgiveable.

A dark amber color with a thick head. This was the best beer at the place. The beer was still thin in flavor but was closer to style than any of the others. Needed more hops and more deeper flavors but this was not bad and I would order again.
