Feb 2, 2008 (On tap) Clear, golden with an off-white head that leaves some laces. Rather neutral aroma - a whiff of malt perhaps. Medium body with a good, clean, malt base, some flowery notes and a fairly solid bitterness. A very clean and distinct Bohemian style pilsener SO far away from the traditional, sticky NZ lager. 250108

Aug 6, 2008 Draught. Golden colour, mediumsized creamy head. Aroma is fruits, malts, hops and mild saltwaer. Flavour is malts, hops, saltater, fudge and some grassyness.

May 13, 2003 It says on the bottle that this is fermented in open topped wooden fermentation vats (known as kauri gyles) which are lined with beeswax, well, sounds pretty interesting. Pilsnerish, yes, with a sweet honeyed character, and some lightly bittering lightly floral citric saaz. I couldn't help but think they used corn it it though, definite corny flavour. Flavours don't quite blend together, and it the texture was a bit syruppy and sweet, Emersons Pils has set a high standard for Kiwi Pilsners, and its streaks ahead of this. But, i thought this might be worse than it ended up being.

Dec 1, 2007 On tap at Speight’s bar, Temple. Pale gold, lasting off white head. Hop is quite distinctive. Interesting nettley hop. OK in mouth, bit of sherbert. Hop is quite biting. Good beer. Nettle/cat’s pee from the sauvin hops. Cool.

May 12, 2008 A Mes rate: Tap at the Speights bar in Temple.Gold with a brownish hue and a slight almost white head. Wheaty malt aroma with some light grassy hops and some very very slight metal but it’s not a spoiler. Nice pale malt flavour with some faint but pleasant Sauvin and Saaz with more slight metal notes. Little kick of sweetness on the finish. A most tolerable pils.
