Bready, roasted aroma.
Black, lacing brown cream.
Fruity coffee and roast flavors.
Medium body, creamy mouthfeel.
Coffee aftertaste. Enniskillen (1554), Port Angeles, Washington, USA Jul 6, 2008 Black with a brown tinted on the edges. Aroma is roasty with chocolate and cream followed by a light mettalic and tart taste to it. Taste is Chocolate, the metal taste is still there along with the faint tartness and light cream. mgermani (597), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jul 4, 2008 Pours a very dark amber with very loose large bubbles on the top - no retention. Aroma is quite sweet. Tastes very thin with a nice maltiness to it, more of a sweet-stout than a dry one. Carb minimal, body thin and water. With a few alterations could make a nice porter. Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 20, 2007 Draught at the brewpub Black body with light tan head. Good sugars and roast on the nose. I was immediately put off on the first sip by the tartness...I wasn’t expecting that. Once I knew what I was getting into, though, the beer came round nicely. Roasty, tart, with soft chocolatey malts. Very refreshing finish. Light body, too. This really drinks like a 4% stout, which in the summer it probably ought to be, but either way it’s a very nice stout, something we don’t get enough of in BC.
