reakt (832), Greater London, England Feb 13, 2008 Cask @ Winter BF Manchester. Black with a thin beige head. Roasted malt, chocolate and coffee with some perfectly balanced hop underneath. If it hadn’t been for JP Best or Urbock, this would have been beer of the fest for me.
wyzzywyz22 (386), Wirral, Merseyside, England Mar 12, 2008 Cask, Hoylake Lights. Colour is tar black with a thin muddy white head. Slips down silkily smooth, rich, powerful, well rounded chocolate flavour with a hint of coffee. Deeply satisfying. fonefan (4850), Ulfborg, Denmark Mar 4, 2008 Cask (gravity) @ The National Winter Ales Festival 2008, Manchester, UK. Clear dark brown color with a small, frothy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, milk chocolate, coffee, notes off cask wood. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. (180108) Mes_and_Sim (4467), Highgate, Greater London, England Jan 24, 2008 A Sim rate (Winter Beer Fest): Seriously cocoa butter, shea butter and chocolate. Absolutely amazing. "Like sticking your head into a confectionary counter", according to Pip. Wow! Kids would kill for a taste of this. Appearance is darkest black. Tastes of chocolate, slight coffee, and cocoa butter again. Rich, creamy, absolutely delightful. Such an amazingly creamy palate. Damn Damn Damn. Without doubt the beer of the festival.
