Sampled at the Slippery Rock Beer Festival. Mild malt aroma with dusty grain and light grassy hops. A bit of neutral fruit but overall a mild nose. Murky brown amber with thin head. Medium watery body with thin-medium carbonation. Starts with medium grain sweetness, with apples. Musty malt, nutty character. Light astringent hop bitterness in the finish with some fruity notes. A bit of chocolate and dusty grain.

Very drinkable dark beer, not hoppy with a full malt profile that doesn’t just taste like caramel,

On tap at Bocktown. I think there was a problem with the CO2 in the taps because this and another beer I had were COMPLETELY flat. Aroma was pretty weak. Stale caramel malt that is hard to detect. Pour was a nice color...deep amber....but no head or bubbles. Taste was awful. Tasted like stale, flat seltzer water with a cherry Cool Aid aftertaste. I can’t imagine this is what the beer is supposed to taste like. I literally had to choke it down before my dinner came.

Right now my favorite beer. Somewhat sweet and extremely drinkable. Its a dark beer that I think could bring your Bud Light friends around. The fresh, grain fragrance is wonderful. Lightly carbonated and hopped, great malt flavor.

[Draft @ TJs Everyday] Poured a hazy brown color with a small, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass . Aroma of nuts, roast, some cocoa, dirty yeast, and light smoke. Taste of sweet caramel, light peat, chocolate, and a bit of alcohol in the finish.

On tap at the Bocktown in the Robinson Shopping Complex, nice place. Very good looking dark hazy pour. A thin head, something like teafroth. Barnyard aromas prevail, quite interesting. I am rather surprised by the attractiveness of this brew before I even taste it. Hay and straw flavors grab the tongue on the initial swig. Earthy characteristics. Slightly carbonated with a creamy mild tingle. A very nifty unique taste sensation is being had here. Down in the background I think I can detect some blackberries and Venango county creekwater in there. Finish is smooth, kind and enjoyable. Not even a hint of bitterness in this brew, comes across something like a good dunkelweizen.
