Pint Bottle
Sprecher’s Triple pours a highly hazed apricot with a minimal white head forming on the pour. What head was present faded to a collar rather quickly and left some thin lacing after each drink. Looks doesn’t look bad just not very good.
Smell is rather unassuming. Slightly sweet pale malts lead the way into a touch of fruitiness. Apricot and possibly some peach with a dusting of alcohol toward the end. There’s a solid wheat twang in there as well.
Flavor is not really along the lines of a tripel. It tastes alright but after tasting some of the great tripels out there this one falls way short. Sweet pale malts kick things off again. Mid-palate comes the stone fruit (apricot and peach) along with a strong dosing of wheat, which I find to be the highlight of this beer. The finish brings a slightly hot slightly fusel alcohol.
Medium bodied with a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Alcohol is a little warm on the swallow with fumes permeating my nose and throat. Low on carbonation.
One of these at a time is enough for me. A little too much sweetness and warmth to drink anymore than one in a sitting.
I think this will be getting passed by from now on. There’s so many great tripels out there it’s hard to justify spending the money on this beer. A little of a disappointment from Sprecher. Stick to the German style brews guys that’s where you shine.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 17, 2007 Bottle: Courtesy of my friends Sam and Jason. The aroma is very sweet and smells like a caramel apple with a hint of raspberries and bubblegum. It pours a hazy reddish-orange with a small beige head that quickly fades to nothing leaving the liquid almost still looking. The flavor starts with a moderate dose of caramel with a hint of apple. There is some graininess in the background. The apple increases in the finish and mixes with some alcohol, residual sugar, floral bitterness, and faint spice. It smells much sweeter than it actually tastes. Full-bodied with a syrupy texture and light carbonation. mrant (330), New York, USA

Pours a hazy orange/amber with a yellowish head. Taste is very rich with a strong taste of vanilla, very thick on the tongue. iowaherkeye (1856), Los Angeles, California, USA

Aroma of Belgian yeast, banana, spices and a touch of vanilla. Flavor had some candi sugar, mild earthy bitterness, and some alcohol--otherwise the same as the aroma. Moderate to full body, light carbonation. badlizard (2345), Berkeley, California, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 30, 2007 Nice frosty golden coloured body with a large and overflowing white head. Aroma of malt, yeast and good coriander seed freshness. Full-bodied; Strong wheat and curacao flavours coupled with a potent malt backbone and some resident yeast that flavours this nicely. Aftertaste is more calm and yeastie than anything else. Overall, a good trip, but nothing far and above better than the average. I sampled this 16 ounce bottle purchased quite a while ago from Premier Gourmet in Buffalo, New York on 29-September-2007. SDalkoholic (1192), Chula Vista, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 25, 2007 This abbey tripel was a pure golden color with large carbonation bubbles rising and a very thin layer of flim. The aroma was weak and I had to really make my nostrils a powerful vacuum of smell just to pick out any noticeable attributes. Well, this minor aroma was mainly just a light scent of some kind of unknown yeast I have never crossed paths with. The initial flavor is bland and has a wet cardboard taste for a flavor and light mentions of grain, and a dead yeast presence. Nothing id recommend to anyone since it’s a real average attempt. georgekappus (296), Brookfield, Connecticut, USA

Malty taste with almost a hint of tropical fruit. Slightly carbonated mouthfeel. I was surprised that it tasted pretty good. Not a bad triple.
