Commercial Description:
We started with a Trappist Triple yeast culture and carefully blended Belgian pale barley malt with traditional malted wheat and oats to produce a delectable golden ale. This special brew is aged 12 weeks creating a fruity nad refined taste with a huge bouqet, light body, and a very smooth, non-bitter finish. Best served at 55 degrees F.

yet another bottle provided by HOPDOG at egajdzis’ tripelfest, was a golden color with very little head, aroma was a bit sour and apple, but not sour apple. taste was pretty much the same, plus a little banana and a little spices. not real solid flavor, kind of watery and sweet in the tail. unimpressive.

Thanks to Hopdog for sharing. Rich amber color with a small head. Aroma is a bit soapy with a faint candi sugar and light buttered toast. Taste is dissapointing right away. Thin bodied with some off flavors of cereal, brown rice and caramel.

Bottle acquired in trade with Ughsmash (thanks!). Poured a medium golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas and tastes of fruity bananas and light spices. Medium sweet. Alcohol content well hidden.

A rather smaller plume of aroma than what I was expecting. Having a label like ’Abbey Triple’ should denote it’s contents, but in this reality it just insinuates that this beer MIGHT be an Abbey Tripel. The Sprecher Abbey is more like a Belgian Witbier I would think, with the flavor of fig and blueberries being small and hinting at something good to come, but it doesn’t. The finish is in Sprecher style; being tasty but then vanishing. There is almost no palate to speak of, but that happens a lot with me (haha). It is recommended to try though.

Nice smooth caramel hop in aroma. Slight cloudy light copper. Somewhat spicy with the oats and cereal. Banana-sweet touch. Ends with alcohol, a dryness, and a slight slight wheat flavor. The aftertaste is very good.

bottle. kind of a golden yellow in color with a large fizzy head tha tsettles down very quickly to a bit of a ring on my glass. this is a little bit sweet, some citrus notes, a bit spicy and a little bit dry on the finish. I can’t find much fault here, I just have a hard time getting excited about Belgian beer.

Had this on tap. Reminded me of Leinenkugels Berry Weiss or 99 Blackberries. Too fruity, almost like taking a small inhale of perfume. Nice dark yellow color. Would not try again, just not my style.

Had this on draught in Milwaukee. Sickly sweet nose, deep and dark yellow color, alcoholy taste, quite hoppy. Not bad, but wouldn’t get it again. 3,3,6,3,10.

Rerated 3/2/08, had this one bottled, thanks Jon! Cloudy, dark orange pour, very bubbly, quite citrusy and spicy. This is a pretty good "new world Tripel."
