| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | May 7, 2008 16-oz, capped. Hazy medium gold with a nice creamy platinum blonde head that settles slowly, leaving dense sheets of lace on the way down. Dusty green apple nose. Medium, creamy body. Dust, green apple, candi sugar, and a bit of watermelon on the mid-palate. Light butterscotchy finish. The flavor profile is pleasant, but much too mushy to really be interesting or refreshing. A nice effort. esjaygee (1578), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 24, 2008 Unfiltered orange with quickly diminishing white head that laces a bit. Aroma of yeast, wheat, fruit and grains. Taste is sweet and fruity with vanilla, banana and pineapple. A little cloying and slightly astringent but not bad from Sprecher. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 16, 2008 Pours a lightly hazy, dark orange-amber color. A small, fizzy, off-white head settles quickly to a wispy film, leaving virtually no lacing behind. The nose is ultra-sweet and strange, showing caramel, butterscotch candies, over-active yeast, sweet bread, cinnamon apples and alcohol. The flavor is equally strange and far from appealing. Butterscotch and caramel dominate, accompanied by cinnamon, ginger, and spoiled apple cider. Mild floral hop notes try to balance things out, but fail miserably. The body is syrupy and cloying, going down hotter than the 8.4% would indicate. Finishes sticky and somewhat vegetal. Sits heavy in the stomach. This is just a downright horrible recipe, in my opinion. I wouldn’t touch this one again. Zinister (1207), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 31, 2008 Foam Rangers tasting. Hazy gold with citrus and yeast nose. Flavor is spiced malts, bread and some sugar at the end. This has a nice layered flavor profile. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 10, 2008 1 L bottle. I’m a bit concerned about the fact that I was redirected twice to get to this screen. At any rate, this one pours turbid orangy with 1-finger off-white head. The 1 L cobalt blue bottle is absolutely stunning. THe aroma is bready malt, spicy florals, candi sugar, yeast, mild tropical fruit. Tastes somewhat sweet, with orange marmalady citrus fruit, hops, some yeasty, spicy, and floral notes throughout. This one is a well made tripel. vadavid (131), Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 8, 2008 Pours a cloudy yellow-orange. The thick head dropped almost immediately. Aroma is coriander, cloves, and fruit (peach). Taste is typical belgian spice, sweet, faint hop, pepper. Lots of tingly carbonation on tongue and lips. RustedHalo (11), USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 1, 2008 16 oz bottle. Pours a nice muted gold with a thick cloud of bubbles and a very subtle crimson bleed. The aroma draws you in immediately, very exotic and fruity with spice notes that do not immediately spring to mind as familiar. Flavor is excellent, dry wisps of apricot and toffee perfectly balanced with the strong yeast presence. Immediate warming effect from the high alcohol, yet this leaves no perceptible taste. This is a fantastic cold weather beer.
