Aroma is of roasted barley and full of bruntness with slight aroma of chocolate. Palate is smooth and yet very full. Would buy again.

Tap at Redlight Redlight. Served in a half liter mug. Pours black with hints of red and a thick tan head. Roasty grain aroma with hints of smoky malt and chocolate. Tatse is smooth roasted grains, chocolate malt with a thick smooth mouthfeel. Finishes very clean, tasty.

Thick black pour with a fluffy tan head. Intense molasses aroma with hints of caramel and chocolate. Perhaps a bit of milk as well. Chocolaty taste with lots of malt. Very smooth and creamy. Bitter with a little bit of maple syrup and slightly tart.

500 ml bottle from my secret santa. pours black with a nice tan head that lasts and lasts. aromas are of roasted malts. from the aroma im guessing crystal 80L and chocolate malts. flavours are caramel and chocolate malts. pretty thick in the mouth. suffers from a lack of hops but even still this is a damn fine schwarz.

I like the 16 oz bottles that is commonly comes in. It’s real dark, but easy to drink for a darker beer - bloating wasn’t an issue.

Near black in colour with a thin tan coloured head, good retention considering the size, good lacing. The aroma has some chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, some sweetness. The flavour is slightly roasty, chocolate and coffee come through, some caramel with a lingering sweetness throughout. Sweet mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes long with a coffee roast, sweet.

Everything seemed to pick up throughout this beer, what seemed boring at first turned out to be a very enjoyable.

355ml bottle obtained in a trade with Optigon, thanks Gary.

22oz bottle. Nearly opaque brown-black with a small tight light brown head. Pronounced chocolate aroma with tinges of roasty malt. Coffee, bittersweet chocolate flavors dominate. Tinges of earthy roast and smokiness. Roast malt, toffee in the finish, with vestiges of smoke. Mouthfeel is a light medium.
