Mar 6, 2008 very dark on the pour. A nice sweet, malty aroma. Slightly fruity, coffee/chocolate and a almost toasty dryness at the end. Makings of a good roast, or chili beer, would also work for dessert.

Mar 5, 2008 Bottled, 2007. Wow, shockingly good. Pours very dark with a slightly reddish hue and a moderate head. Significant lacing. Roasted malts aroma. Taste is chocs and caramels, very light mouthfeel. Hint of bitter to finish. Great beer.

Mar 1, 2008 500ml bottle. Proper dark brown/near-black color, with a small tan head, creamy and luscious. Decent roast, smoke, jerky and char in the nose, but not quite like stout, and not quite like most other schwarzbier I’ve had - there’s some fruit/berry aspects as well, and some candy sugar note too, which is strange. Flavor is crisp, moderately thick, creamy over the middle, with some light wood dry (but not dry), some toast, some chocolate malt and some sweeter chocolate syrup. A small soapy note pops up when warmer, but altogethor it’s a nice beer, very drinkable.

Feb 29, 2008 16 oz bottle thanks to tjthresh, Thanks man. Well keeping on with my "S" breweries day I lucked into this beer TODAY from a trade, this is the 4th of the night and what a suprise!! Pours a nice deep brown body with orange edges and a large beige head. Aroma of sweet bakers chocolate, floral notes and bread. Light bodied with slight carbonation that is highly drinkable. flavor of bitter chcolate, and hmm malts?? Sure yeah malts that works. Bottom line, good beer, slightly buzzed rater.

Feb 29, 2008 Dark black color with little head. Aroma is a strong whiff of chocolate syrup and port. Palate is a little flat. Toasty smooth flavor with hints of alcohol and espresso finish.

Feb 28, 2008 Bottle from a trade. Thanks whoever sent this. Pours a dark hazelnut with a small tan head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malts, ash, and coffee. Flavor is a little more muted with more chocolate and a mild hoppy thing. Pretty good, I think I liked the Kidd Lager better.

Feb 23, 2008 The top rated schwarzbier on tap at the brewey, alright, here we go. Dark brown almost black, with creamy tan head and lacing. Smoky and roasty aroma very light. Smoky sweet roasted malt with cherry, oh so good. Medium body and well carbonated. This is a very good beer.

Feb 21, 2008 Sprecher’s best. Great appearance. Wonderful pour and head. Good character. Not too hoppy. Great roasted flavor and licorice flavor. Good beer.
