(Bottle 47 cl) Beautiful, clear mahogany with a tint of red and an off-white head. Lightly burned malt aroma. Medium body with sweetish and burned malt accents. A vague ashy edge and a malt bitter finish. 011206

Bottled. Reddish brown coloured. Beige/light brown dense head. Sweetness, cold coffee, caramel and some fruity notes in the aroma. Flavour of roast, coffee, sweetness and fruits. Medium to full bodied. Quite balanced and smooth. Ends on a roasted coffee note with some background alcoholnotes. Thanks to DavidP for this.

Bottled. Very dark reddish brown. Roasty bready aroma. Sweet malty and roasty flavour with light buttery notes. Dry roasty finish. Medium bodied. A pretty good Schwarzbier.

Botle. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized tan head. Aroma of roasted coffee beans with a hint of dark chocolate. Taste is watery and of burnt coffee with only a light malt presence. I was dissappointed in the lack of complexity and thought it was rather bland.

Just from the recommendation I knew that this was going to be a good one. A little thicker, more oily than what I’m used to with a Schwarzbier. That, it turns out, is a good thing. Robust, licorice-flavor really accents this one well. Drinks remarkably easy. Damn good.

12OZ bottle via degarth(thanks). Pours a near black with a small beige head. Nice aroma with notes of almonds, roasted coffee, and toffee. Taste is the same with some added plums, raisins, figs, hazlenuts, burnt malts. Some hops are evident in the finish. Very tastey beer.
