| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 18, 2006 Updated: Jan 1, 2007Botle. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized tan head. Aroma of roasted coffee beans with a hint of dark chocolate. Taste is watery and of burnt coffee with only a light malt presence. I was dissappointed in the lack of complexity and thought it was rather bland. Fantomas23 (463), Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 12, 2006 Just from the recommendation I knew that this was going to be a good one. A little thicker, more oily than what I’m used to with a Schwarzbier. That, it turns out, is a good thing. Robust, licorice-flavor really accents this one well. Drinks remarkably easy. Damn good. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA
