16 oz bottle. Dark chocolate brown with a thin walnut head. Malty nose with undertones of coffee. Tangy and stoutish with espresso and residual mocha. Medium body dissipates quickly and finishes clean.

New in town. Aroma is sweet malts with a metallic twinge and extremely faint smokey and chocolate hints. Body is dark brown approaching full black and sports a rapidly diminishing tan head. Coffee, chocolate, dark roasted malts. Has an almost porter like flavor at first, but with a lighter mouthfeel. Slight hints of molasses through the middle with a bitter lingering finish. At times it has porter and dunkel flavors, but never truly gets all that schwarzbier-y. Still decently tasty.

It’s pretty black. Thin head, with a roasted nut aroma. Slight metallic like flavor. Some choclate malt under tones. This is a refreshing brew. Quite solid, I must say.

Bottle. Decent malt and spicey aromas. Black body with decent tan head. Body was watered down and had slight sweetness and bitter flavor. Left a bitter and coffee aftertaste on palate.

Bottle thanks to Kevin. Coffee and citrus in the aroma. Almost black with light edges and a café au lait colored head. Roasty flavor with chocolate and more coffee. Nice mf. It does not have the metallic notes often found in schwarzbier, which is really nice. Very roasty for a schwarzbier and quite strong. I would probably have categorized this as a dry stout if I had not known what it was.

Pours ruby black into a shaker. Brown conglomerate head slowly recedes leaving no lacing. Prune, fig, and caramel malt notes. Upfront chocolate and dried fruit with an thin, sweet, smokey lasting finish.

Attractive deep mahogany/brown pour with a creamy head that is nearly tan in color. Musty aroma with prune and chocolate amidst roasted (almost smoky) notes. Smooth, fat mouthfeel with a dry finish. Chocolate flavor dominates... kind of like Kayo with a touch of dark fruit and some coffee bitters to finish. This started out reminding me of a kit stout but gained complexity (and started holding my interest) as it opened up.
