Commercial Description:
This intensely dark Kulmbacher style lager has a superb malt complexity with the distinctive flavors and aromas of coffee, caramel and chocolate. A renowned smoothness and a creamy, tan head make it an all-time brewery favorite.

Poured brown with ruby highlites and a fairly tall fizzy brown head that dissipated quickly. Aroma of some light vinous fruits, some dark chocolate, a bit of roastiness, somewhat restrained. Taste is lightly sweet with notes of dark fruits and some light roasty character. Some watered down coffee in the flavor. Body feels a little thin. Not sure if I’ve held on to it too long, but it feels a bit skeletal. Perhaps I’m expecting too much from a schwarzbier.

16oz bottle, surprised at the size. A black beer with a large tan head. The aroma is not super strong, but still very nice- malty chocolate, caramel, and sweet. The flavor is roasty, some sort of sour flavor, caramel, and also sweet chocolate. Nice creamy feel. Impressed, did not expect much from this brewer.

Pours "intensely dark" with almost no head. Smell like burnt malty chocolate. Tastes just like it smells, only better. Creamy goodness. It is really quite drinkable for being so "intensely dark." Good stuff...

16 oz. bottle from Pristine Liquors in Spring Hill, FL. Chocolate, woody, malty aroma...Pours black, almost no head. Flavor is nice woody, malty, and burnt...Very smooth on the palate, very drinkable. What a pleasant surprise...really really good. Like the 16 oz. bottles too...a little different.

Bottle. Pours black with a small light tan head. Aroma of rich bready malt and roasted lager malts with a slight hint of chocolate. Flavor is quite similar, with a smooth palate. Some vegetal notes with a sweet finish. Not as roasty as some schwarzbiers are and its malt character reminds me more of a doppelbock. A nice beer. 7/4/7/4/15 (3.7/5)

Pours a dark brown with a foamy, medium tan head. A very moderate beer with hints of caramel, chocolate, coffee, and malts. Not as bitter as it may look; very drinkable.

Bottle from New Beer. Pours a dark brown black body with 1 finger creamy tan head. Chocolate sweet malty aroma. Creamy malty body with caramel and toffee. A malty milkshake of enjoyment.
