| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 24, 2007 Moderately thick pour to an opaque and midnight muddy brown. Sawdust tops it off. Nose dives deep into broiled butterscotch, singed bourbony oak, caramel laced dark chocolate truffles and mocha fudge rippled with Godiva liquor. Deep stuff. Flavor affirms a prominent, balanced blend of sweet bourbon strife. Fudgie mocha morsels melt in the mouth while the bourbon sweetens its sprig. Caramel ribbons ride through French silk talc and white mocha fudge. Cocoa powder patters into the balanced delicatessen blend. Medium to fuller bodied, carefully carbonated and ever the balanced beer. Sweet milk chocolate goop cradles the sides of the oak cask as bourbon lurks at the bottom with a smooth, chocolaty milk finish. TheCheeseMan (539), Saint Cloud, Florida, USA

Liters Bottled: 1200
Bottled: Spring 2007
9/05/2007: Sprecher Czar Brew is a rich, complex, well-balanced, and beautifully crafted barrel-aged beer. It is near black in color and quite opaque with a rich tan/brown head. Chocolate, vanilla, caramelized malt, sweet licorice, smooth bourbon, and a hint of oak can all be found in the truly wonderful and inviting aroma. The flavor definitely delivers that the aroma promised. It is malty and dark with great flavors that include chocolate, nice smooth chocolate bourbon, rich caramalized malt, and hints of licorice and barrek char. The alcohol is well-contained amongst the river of flavors of this medium-full to full-bodied brew. The texture is smooth and creamy on the palate. This beer is so easy to drink that it’s scary!
