In mouth, a sweet maple malt with peaty notes, solvents, fusel alcohol. Not a winner this time. Probably infected. Tasted at "Montréal YeHA! Party 2006" . Dec. 16 2006. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 9, 2007 Picked up a bottle at Cellars LexLarp, St Paul, MN. Shared with friends on weekend. Pours a dark amber with an off white head. Aroma is sweet with hints of vanilla, candy sugar, and port. Taste has the bourbon nutty flavor with toffee, and barley malt. Finish is dry with a hint of vanilla. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 7, 2007 Chestnut brown color. Mildly sweet, robust aroma. Earthy and sort of slick. Tastes like brown sugar cake soaked in bourbon, rolled in the dirt. The peat flavor imbued by the oak doesn’t mesh well, surprisingly, and taken alone it’s just a mite too sweet i think. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 9, 2007 Murky brown color with a thin head. Nice caramel aroma with maybe just a bit of smoke. Oh my god, the taste... all of the aroma plus just a great balance of the usual bourbon aged flavors: bourbon, vanilla and oak. I can not emphasize enough Sprecher’s brilliance at aging beer in bourbon barrels. It’s obviously been in a bourbon barrel, but it’s not like I’m drinking a pint of bourbon. Out-freaking-standing. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 9, 2007 Dark amber color with minimal white head. Bourbon nose with a sweet earthy tinge to it. Dry bourbon flavor that’s well balanced and not overwhelming. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 23, 2007 Black pour, moderate to small head, average lacing and retention. Aroma doesn’t offer much, light amounts of darker malts and fruits with bourbon. No real smokey character. Flavor brings much more bourbon and soft vanilla. Very low bitterness, medium to light body. Sweet finish with light acidity. Enjoyable but not that true to the style. brew4all (102), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 21, 2007 Aroma was strong with Bourbon and dark fruits. Poured a dark cloudy copper with a thin head. The flavor was smooth with hints of Oak and fruit. Finished with a very nice hint of the whiskey barrels and some dryness as well. Very solid brew
