Bottle from Cavie. Dark brown pour with an off white head. Heavy malts, caramel, and molasses aroma. Coffee, molasses, and dark chocolate flavor.

Pours dark amber brown with thin tan head. Nose is a bit medicinal/cough syrupy but also hints of roasted malt and brown sugar. Taste is largely chocolate malts with mild sweetness. Low in hopping as expected, but a slight bitter aftertaste, likely fromt the roasted malts. Decent palate presence with a light fizz on the tongue. Overall enjoyable, just not one of my top Sprecher brews.

Very pretty clear dark red pour. Smell is heavy fruit and grain. Smell also has a fair amount of rich spice as well. Taste is smooth roasted caramel malts. Kind of weak upfront but has a full kick of bitterness. A little too straight-forward.

Dark chestnut with a smallish head. Bready and caramel aroma that was very pleasant. Flavors of brown sugar, and molassas, a bit thin for my liking. Finish was a bit harsh and as previously mentioned, scratchy . Overall, good not great. Better as it warms.

Surprisingly decent. Flavors of toffee, caramel, roasted hazelnuts and a nice warm finish.

This beer came in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with a small brown head. The aroma was tangy, sour and malty with a touch of fruity hops. The flavor was tangy cherries, light molasses and a hint of anise. The finish was short tangy anise. Medium body. Ok.

Light body for a Winter beer, It has a nice dark ruby/brown color and a malty aroma. Tastes a little of berries (black or boysenberry?) with some maltiness. Noticed the caramel and toffee on the end giving a pleasant aftertaste. I like the lack of cinnamon and nutmeg that are so prevalent in other winter offerings.

16 oz. bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with a moderate tan head that disappears after the first quarter of the glass and leaves no lace. Pleasant aroma of malt, molasses, chocolate, and toffee with just a bit of earthiness. The flavor is unsweetened iced tea, malt, molasses and light roast. A bit thin and watery at the finish. Really not a bad beer, but given the flavors, I was expecting something more hearty.
