Commercial Description:
True in flavor to the traditionally spelled Dunkel Weizen, this medium-bodied dark wheat ale has characteristic roasted malt flavors balanced by light hops, mild carbonation, hints of spice and fruit.

12 oz. bottle from Three Cellars (yes. a 12 oz. bottle from Sprecher. I think that’s a sign of the apocalypse). Nut brown color with a slight haze and a thick, light brown head. Aroma is crisp wheat with a fruity sweetness. Flavor is spicy wheat with an earthy herbal background. Medium bodied with a short, spicy finish. Very nice. Hope Sprecher makes this more widely available.

Light malty hints with a chocolate brown color. Tastes of spice and perhaps a little bit of cinnamon. Light body with a clean finish. Easy drinking.

Pours dark and murky... nice haze with a thin head. Aroma of bananas, clove, some chocolate and maybe some carmel notes. Nice mouthfeel, nice balance between the banana and clove flavor... Good stuff

This beer came in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark nut brown color with a small khaki head. The aroma was somewhat faint dry, nutty malts with traces of banana and clove. The flavor was tart, tangy and a little bitter with light banana, clove and bubblegum. Medium length finish that turns a bit dry. Medium full body. Decent.

A nice cloudy dark brown hue with a nice thick bone color head. Aroma mostly had a wheat note, but there was a slight fruitiness to it. Flavor had a nice earth-like quality to it. Rich malt notes through out. Nice mouthfeel and the carbonation was very mild. Finish seemed a little light, but not negative.

Poured caramel brown color with a medium off-white fizzy head that mostly lasted and had good lacing. Moderate sweet toasted malty aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium balanced bittersweet spicy flavor with a real nice finish of moderate duration. Very good.
