Commercial Description:
Celebrating 20 years of remarkably good taste! Characterized by a medium-body & dry well-balanced finish, this deep brown porter brewed with Dutch cocoa and pure raspberry extract evokes chocolate, caramel and fresh tart raspberries. Keeping our specialty product cool, still & dark pays rewards in flavor changes over the next year or more.

1 Liter bottle shared with Zinister and KAggie97 at the "Double Tree Houston" tasting. Pour is very deep black with a one inch off white head. Aroma is cocoa sweetness with a touch of alcohol (odd for a 5.7% beer) and some cedar (reminded me of a Habitrail - more pleasant than you would imagine). I can honestly say that I have never smelled a beer that has this much variety going on in the nose. Just weird, weird, weird. Taste is creamy porter with coffee roast and then a blast of the very sweet / tart raspberries. Near the end, there is the cocoa powder sweetness. Somehow, with all of the above going on, the Palate was really thin. An extraordinarily unique beer, and I really have no idea how to rate this.

Bottle shared with theisti and Zinister. Thanks to Tim for luggin’ this liter bottle with him. Pours no-light black with an aroma of modeling clay, hopped chocolate, and cedar chips that remind me of puppies in a pet store. Tastes like chocolate mixed with severely unripened fruit. Try to keep the fruit on the vine a tad longer, fellas. Average mouthfeel. Interesting beer with many faces.

Bottle. Pours black, can’t see through it, thin light brown head. Initial aroma is of strawberry/raspberry jam, chocolate and roasted malt. Taste is pretty much exactly the same, the raspberry is really pronounced up front, finishes chocolate. Very interesting beer, I kind of like it.

Dark black body with some ruby hints and a small light brown head. Sweet raspberry and cocoa aroma with some roasted malt. Sweet raspberry flavor with some light cocoa and a light sour hint.

RBSG07. From 32 oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a brown head. Aroma is almost spiced with a strange off note I cannot make out (might be the raspberry). Strong notes of liqourice. Flavour is dark, dry and annis. Thick mouthfeel. Finish is dry annis.

Sample thanks to Maniac lugging this halfway across the country with Immy. Black with brown at edges, slight head remains, throws some lace. Raisin and chocolate aroma. Flavor matches, with some tartness and stems on the finish. Good up until we got to the flavor.

RBSG 07 Grand Tasting beer #3. Like chocolate covered rasberries, but the chocolate is bitter and hte rasberries a syrup.

RBSG 07 Grand Tasting beer #2. Raspberry nose on this dark brown beer. Maybe some faint cocoa in the nose as well. Cocoa show up well amid the raspberry flavor.
