Commercial Description:
Celebrating 20 years of remarkably good taste! Characterized by a medium-body & dry well-balanced finish, this deep brown porter brewed with Dutch cocoa and pure raspberry extract evokes chocolate, caramel and fresh tart raspberries. Keeping our specialty product cool, still & dark pays rewards in flavor changes over the next year or more.

Big 34.92 oz.bottle with a sealed swing top that pours a clear brown-dark ruby color with huge lasting creamy light brown head that leaves sticky sheets of lace in my glass. Aroma of chocolate and raspberries, tart fruity raspberry, chocolate, nuts and caramel flavors. Medium bodied with a soft and creamy mouthfeel, finishes with a lingering sweetness, maybe a bit too sweet. I did not seem to have any problem finishing the large bottle by myself.

Dark brown with good, creamy tan head / Sweet, candied berry and roast barley nose / Medium body, watery, with fair finish / Flavors of fresh raspberries and bittersweet chocolate / Weak body gives this one a soda pop character.

Bottle from Beer Geek. Pours opaque brown/black. Half-finger tan head that left quickly. Aroma of ancient raspberries. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is very raspberry, accompanied by chocolate. As time goes by, it actually tastes much like a raspberry chocolate truffle - though bitter, not sweet. Finishes in a good way that I can’t begin to describe. Sort of vinous, a bit sour. Ok. I can begin. Wow, if this is 4 years old. Or if it isn’t! Buy one before they go away.

Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Black, small beige head. Lightly roasty. Thecocoa and raspberry shows up early. Medium bodied withclean, rounded mouthfeel. Juicy raspberry meets coffee. Dry, slightly citric notes of berries. Fairly low bitterness. A well balanced yet unusual beer staying wel outside of the mainstream (no bourbon barel in sight here!). After the initial confusion I start to really like this!

Bottle at Monks Café, Wallingatan. Black coloured with a samll beige head. Fruity aroma of raspberries with roasted notes and notes of chocolate. Roasted flavour of raspberries, chocolate and cocoa powder. Roasted and berryish finish. The raspberries are too dominating.

Pours deep brown. Aroma of wine. Very light on flavor with an initial hint of raspberry followed by burnt chocolate. Bitterness, but not from hops. Sour aftertaste.

Dark brown with ruby highlights with a large three finger tan head slowly fading away leaving some splotchy lace. Aroma of a raspberry fruit filled donut, chocolate and malt. If only it tasted like it’s smelled. Mild raspberry at first with some light chocolate and malt and finished up with some raspberry sweet/tartness. Creamy yet thin, oily, dry and astringent with a touch of bitterness. Typical Sprecher, I guess – the king champion of mediocrity.
