| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Aug 25, 2007 Bottle... Hazy golden ale with a small, fizzy, white head. Very phenolic, estery aroma and flavor; hot apple cider with clove served up in a colonial kitchen or pre-game tailgate. Smells rustic. Smells like autumn. Smells and tastes of crisp, big-time college football with Pop Warner toffee, intramural vanilla and a touch of Keith Jackson lemon. That was a little twisted... must be that time of the year again! Medium to full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. Spicy, sweet finish. holdenn (1454), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Sweet creamy nose bananas and wheat mostly, Creamy banana sweet flavors wheaty yeasty sweet, (reminding me a little bit of banana pudding) and a little citrus. Decent. drewbeerme (2315), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Aug 3, 2007 Bottle. Cloudy, murky and generally hazy straw. Carries a large, durable. loose white head. Tangy aroma, almost choking. Light, sour and just god awful sour grain flavor. EithCubes (2176), Indiana, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 30, 2007 Bottle. Stale grainy nose hits immediately on cap-pop but resolves into a smoother, creamer, yeast and phenol aroma. Still has that off-putting graininess, though, with allspice. Cloudy golden with strong carbonation and a big, fluffy white head. Taste is as expected, with light tart and big overtones of sourdough and citrus. Medium body is dry but tending a tad toward watery, still velvety smooth. Dry bready aftertaste. Not going to have this again, a big disappointment from one of the country’s best breweries.
