| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 9, 2007 16 oz. bottle rating. Pour is copper with an average white head. Aroma is more concentrated on the malt, and less on the hops. I believe the flavor is more typical of an american strong ale as it almost jaunts into barleywine categorization. Slightly alcoholic flavored. The flavor does not mask this well. Decent flavor up front, but the finish is harsh. badlizard (2380), Berkeley, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 6, 2007 1 L cobalt blue glass bottle from Holiday Wine Cellars. Pours an orange/brown amber with a fizzy white head. Fruit, caramel, alcohol, and earthy hops aroma. Syrupy sticky palate. Toffee and caramel tastes and a big bitterness and a semi-dry alcoholic finish. notalush (2687), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 5, 2007 Thanks to goldtwins for sharing - fiery orange pour with a sticky lace - very bready, medium sweet aroma - fairly smooth, with well-masked alcohol, but also pretty thin - medium bitterness that tastes almost metallic - kind of corn/adjunct flavor at the end - so so. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 5, 2007 Bottle: Clear bronze, nice head and lacing. Nose of musky tin, earthy hops, light caramel. The flavor is malty, very light hops, sweet malt. Meh, earthy. It’s more like an I1/2PA. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 4, 2007 Poured a clear copper color with a thin almost white head. The malty aroma was sweet with toffee notes. The aroma became doughy as it warmed. Mlaty flavor with a mildto moderate hop finish. JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA

Aroma is quite sweet and buttery. A bit of earthy malts. German hops seem to be what was used. Sweet and earthy and comes across as poorly underattenuated. Earthy/woody hops. Meh. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 1, 2007 Pours a darker amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is of toasted malts for some reason, caramel malts, and next to nothing as far as hops are concerned and very little alcohol on the nose. I was dissapointed in the lack of hops on this. Flavor is sweeter then it should be for a double ipa. Plenty of bittering hops but not much after that. Plenty of the toasted and caramel malts. Finishes dry with a little bit of alcohol warming. Dissapointed in this sprecher brew. Capa (993), Yokosuka, Japan
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 1, 2007 Thanks to Lowe1983 for the bottle. Deep copper/orange pour with a medium tan head. Suprised by the aroma. Toasty caramel malts dominate. Sweet, dark fruits, plums, not much in the way of hops. Hmm, IIPA? Flavor is malty, toasted, some grassy hops, resiny, and caramel. Finishes bitter with the alcohol finally making itself known. This is more of an English style IIPA, with a fair amount of malts and not enough hops for my taste. Medium body. A little dissapointed.
