Pours with a large, creamy, off-white head covering a clear amber body. Good retention left by the head. Aroma is malty and a bit spicey with a bit of grapefruit zest and earthy hops. A bit of wheat and caramel too. Taste is very malty with a couple notes of something that reminds me of rye. Lightly hoppy. Very odd tasting DIPA. Syrupy mouthfeel with light carbonation and a pleasant aftertaste. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 10, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, amber body with a well-formed, lasting, off-white head.
Smell: Toasty pale malts, slightly grainy, with a hint of caramel.
Taste: Caramel maltiness, a few grains, and some discarded breadcrusts thrown in. Mild sweetness. Light lemony citrus. Medium hop bitterness. Drying finish with some of the alcohol creeping in.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A decent, drinkable beer, sure, but it lacks a well-defined hop character. Up the hops, baby! phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 8, 2008 I had this one yesterday on draught. While the aroma was halfway decent- soft floral and pine notes- the most appealing thing about this brew was the colour. Clear copper with a small white head. A little unbalanced with overly hoppy character and a firm bitter finish. jbuzz (664), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Pretty malty for an IPA, I really didn’t get much in the way in hops. As I drank the beer I kept thinking about the feeling you get when you spray your self with “Off”. That sensation is what the taste and feel of this beer brought to mind.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 10, 2008 16 oz bottle, labeled IPA^2. Clear amber colored pour with a smallish white head. Floral hop aromas mixed with caramel malt. Plenty of malt and hop flavors, leaning towards the floral, resinous hops. Too malty to be called an IPA, but not quite bold enough to be an IIPA, this lies somewhere in between for me. Very enjoyable and a beer that I could drink any time. Not sure why it’s rated as low as it is. Palidor19 (1798), Brandon, Florida, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 28, 2008 750 ml cobalt blue bottle from Capone’s. Pours coppery with 2-fingers of off-white head and great lacing. Nose is caramel malt, bready hops, and sadly some fusels. Tastes caramel malty, hoppy in that bready spicy Belgian way, with some doughy and lemony mid-palate flavors. Medium palate. This one was a marginal disappointment.
