New in town from the English ales Sampler Pack. aroma is a bit dusty with a sharp roasted malt note. Body is flat black and holds a slowly diminishing thumb thick mocha head. Fore is light coffee, chocolate, roasted malt and a metallic tinged dusty flavor. Feel of it is decent, but that dusty note to the aroma and flavor is distracting and detracts from my enjoyment of the beer.

Thanks a lot for the bottle Duane. The body was black with a light brown colored head. The aroma was roasted peanuts with some coffee. There was also some sweet milk chocolate. The taste was coffee with moldy cheese. There was also some burnt bread crust. The taste was nicer than that description sounds. The carbonation was very smooth. Another beer in an underappreciated style.

Poured black with a brown head. Light roasty coffee aroma. Flavor is a bit thin, metalic, chocolate and coffee.

Bottle. Started off good with some aroma you would get from buying a flavored coffee at starbucks. Black body with tan head. Bitterness was the dominate flavor along with some metalic taste. Boddy could use more thickness little thin. Good bitter beer belch in the end.

Bottle: Courtesy of Duane via trade. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, and some burnt notes. Pours a dark brown with some minimal orange hilights and a moderate tan head with decent retention. Lots of burnt malt with very light hints of chocolate. Finsihes with some bitter black coffee, nuttiness, light piney bitterness. For some reason the flavors just don’t mesh well. Mouthfeel is a tad thin and somewhat fizzy.

16oz bottle acquired in trade with brewblackhole (thanks!). This one came today. When I was unwrapping the bubble wrap, I heard a huge pop. Oh, no, I run to the sink expecting the cap came loose. When I get the bubble wrap off, the neck broke with the cap still on it. After straining through cheese cloth, here I sit with my glass of beer. Poured a dark black, with red edges, and a large sized light brown head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, nutty, and a little toasty. Tastes of chocolate, roast, coffee, nutty, and some dark fruits in there as well. Thinner body.

Black body with a decent brown head. The aroma is roasted barley with a splash of chocolate. More to the flavor. Roasted barley, sweet malt, chocolate, coffee, and a mild nutty bitterness. Sweet but dry finish. Nice.

Pours pitch black with a beautiful thick brown head. Aroma of chocolate, powder cocoa, and a light fruity almost banana scent. First sip I thought, wow, this is good, a thin enjoyable mouth feel. Second taste was powdery and chocolate with a lingering dry dusty finish. More and more tastes later I am still enjoying the chocolate flavor and the slightly sweet berry that is deep in the background of this. A damn fine beer. Ap-5 ar-7 tas-8 pal-4 ov-17
