Very clean tasting with a slightly unbalanced flavor towards bitterness. Lots of noble hops in the nose and taste. Similar to a heavy German Pilsner taste. jewedekind (450), Middleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 30, 2004 This maibock is lighter in body and malt than the "type" beer (Hofbrau). However it is quite drinkable with a nice white head, light yellow-amber color, superb mix of body and maltiness with alcohol. Aroma is a little off and I could not place the hops (which should be minimal anyway). I really like this one! jah noth (1016), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 29, 2004 This is a mighty tasty brew, and a winner from Sprecher. The piney hop aroma greets you as you twist the cap. Nice golden in color with a fluffy head and lots of tiny bubbles. Fairly rich flavor for a lager, but nice for a maibock. Not nearly as sticky seet as some maibocks, and I think that’s a good thing. Floral and piney hops in the flavor, a little sourness in the malt. Delightful texture. Nice brew. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 29, 2004 Bronze hue. Puffy off white head, sufficient lacing. Sweet, doughy, malt nose, faint floral notes. Butterscotch, malt, then all hops, faint licorice in the finish, more resinous hops, medium body, very quaffable, and perhaps a nice spring refresher. I have yet to be really impressed by theses guys, but [erhaps I should sit down and give them a second chance. I am excited by their wide range of brews, but that isnt always a good thing... | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 23, 2004 Deep amber hue with aveage white head and some lace. The aroma hints of caramelized malts, ripe apricots, very aromatic hops, and barnyard yeast esters. The taste is very malty and wheat bready, with undertones of sweet fruit and mild cardamom. Some bitterness towards end, but very subdued in nature. The mouthfeel is soft and medium-bodied. Okay, but lack a kick. Quaffable easy going starter beer. heemer77 (4304), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 19, 2004 Pours a dark gold with a red tint. Little head. Aroma is light with malt and a little hops. Doesn't seem like much of a bock in the flavor. This is almost like a very light IPA. Slight citrus and some sweet malty background. This is a good summer beer. radiomgb (1977), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 11, 2004 Deep amber in colour. Aroma was quite floral, with citrus and some malt. Flavour was rather malty, had a huge caramel sweetness, somewhat unbalanced. Finishes very sweet with a mild bitterness. beerhugger (541), Oshawa, Ontario, Canada

Light amber colour with a frothy white, quickly dissipating head. Fruity and floral notes in the malty aroma. Smooth sweet flavour of orange and bread. Lingers with just a hint of hop bitterness - nice.
