Poured a clear medium orange with an inch worth of creamy beige head... stuck around for a while. Nose was quite sweet and remniscent of autumn.. leaves falling off the trees, toasted caramel candy, and dry fruity yeast notes.. enjoyable. Flavor began with mild leafy and herbal bitterness, transitioning to a sweet toasted caramel and nutty base... some fruit and caramel through the finish. Just shy of medium-bodied with an OK balance between the mild bitterness and sweet middle. This was a decent, drinkable brew. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 11, 2007 Darkish amber with a fair sized head. Aroma is light malts and what I found to be a nice cranberry smell. Flavor is malts and mild fruity hops. Better than I expected it to be. jebert (122), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 16, 2006 This beer pours a beautiful red amber with a creamy tan head. Its aroma is of carmel. It tastes mellow with a slighly sweet flavor of carmel and roasted barley with a hint of fruitiness. It finishes with a crisp, dry aftertaste. This seasonal is a fine companion to a hearty fall or mid-winter lunch. Not in the top tier of Sprecher beers. but a very worthy brew nonetheless. Sammy (4049), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Better than average Octoberfest, with significant smokey aroma, flavoiur, and even a grey tinge to the colour of yellow, and decent lacing. Easy drinking and well carbonated with good malting, caramel there, and some hop.And a fruity aftertaste. Once a year however.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 3, 2006 Enjoyed on tap at Benders Sports Pub in West Bend, WI. Pours dark orange/light brown. Moderate head, good lacing remained on glass. Smells very malty with lots of bread notes. Biscuity as well. The flavor is more bitter than expected, but very smooth. Sort of a toasted garlic bread flavor. Dangerously drinkable...wish it was available year-round. Ibrew2or3 (2766), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA

Flavor is lots of caramel malts. Hop bite coming from what taste like Saaz hops. kramer (2482), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 1, 2006 500 ml bottle, via milwcu29. Pours a clear orangish copper colored body under a fizzy beige one finger head that receded to a whispy film. Aroma is rather grainy and toasty with the lightest hint of munich and toffee malts. A little light diacetyl as well. Flavor is fairly thin and grainy. More of a toasted flavor than anything. Not much sweetness till later in the finish. Mouthfeel is fairly thin with intense prickly carbonation. Overall, a pretty weak Oktoberfest. Not much malty sweetness and really lacking in body.
