| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 18, 2006 I was astonished at how little head was in the pour. The aroma was subtle but sweet and the first sip had... cloves. A pretty mild flavor accompanied the rich brown color. Decent malt flavor and balance. EithCubes (2167), Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 12, 2006 Updated: Oct 5, 2007Bottle. Aroma is deep and richly malty, strong caramel and breadiness with very light fruitiness. Dark reddish amber pour fades into walnut. Short tan head. Crisp, bitterness well-balanced by sweet maltiness. I actually taste some hops! Rare for the style. A little bg cracker, and very delicious roast which gains prominence with time and warmth. Smooth and sharp feel, slight alcohol in the finish, but minimal. Dry and bitterly malty aftertaste lasts and lasts.... Elegant, mature beer, as suitable for downing as for sipping, and one of the most enjoyable takes on the style I’ve encountered. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 9, 2006 Pours a clear rich red amber with almost no head. The nose is sweet with caramel malt and some floral hops. There’s something very creamy/dairy in there not to mention raspberries? On the palate this is refreshing and yet creamy and full in the mouth. The flavors are completely in line with the aromas. There’s some big sweet creamy caramel malt up front. There these really nice floral notes that almost come out tasting fruity, particularly of berries. Really satisfying. I don’t quite know if I could drink this by the liter, but I wouldn’t mind trying. tcruicks (282), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 9, 2006 The color is hard to describe- a reddish brownish color with some orange also. It has a white head that disappears quickly. It is sweet and malty, with some woody flavors, some vanilla in the aroma, some dark fruit in the flavor and well balanced with light hops. This beer is very drinkable and tastes good. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 7, 2006 I really like this year’s version of the Oktoberfest, bready, apple and berry fruity, a light caramel toffee and spicy, honey-like hops, very drinkable. shrubber85 (2984), Wallhalben, Germany

Aroma: Chocolate and caramel matly aroma. Nutty. Not overly strong in scent.
Appearance: Dark amber. Darker than the overage Oktoberfest. Tan head really lasts. Bonus for the head.
Flavor: Malty and caramel and surprisingly a bit bittersweet.
Palate: Bittersweet is the only way I can really describe this. Different.
Overall: Tough one to rate but I did enjoy it. Would love to see what this one tastes like out of a tap. SledgeJr (2972), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
