It’s a pretty color. The nose is a bright, clean Munich malt front with a hint of fruity hops in the background. Light to medium-bodied and a touch "grainy" with a slightly astringent lingeringly toasty finish. The flavor is of toasted Munich malt and a touch of caramel with lightly fruity hops in the finish. If the it were just a touch smoother on the palate, this would be one of my favorite Märzens. As it stands, it’s still in the top tier of those that I’ve sampled to date. This seasonal pours a dark copper color with a medium light tan head that diminishes pretty quickly. Stringy lacing. Caramel malt aroma with touches of fruit and hops. Medium-bodied and smooth with roasted malt, caramel and plum flavors. Touches of mildly bitter hops are there as well. The finish is short and sweet with a caramel aftertaste. Overall this is an above average Oktoberfest. Darkover (1316), Columbus, Ohio, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 4, 2007 Had this beer on 6/12/2000. Aroma is a crisp scent that reminds me of Coors. Color is a bright golden brown with good carbonation and a light head. Taste is carmely and sweet with a slight metallic taste. Starting with a medium body that goes down creamy with a sweet malt taste coming on. The finish comes on with this malt flavor getting a bit stronger baked by a light hop flavor and bitterness. All of this is followed up by a light metallic after taste that seems to fade the more you drink it. kmweaver (2489), Sebastopol, California, USA
