Commercial Description:
AUTUMN - Traditionally brewed to celebrate the harvest season, this reddish-brown lager has a rich caramel character and a long flavorful finish. Its delicious malty sweetness is nicely accented by a slightly fruity bouquet and a mild hop flavor.

Pours a deep, clear, copper with a thin, tan head that quickly diminishes. It’s a pretty color. The nose is a bright, clean Munich malt front with a hint of fruity hops in the background. Light to medium-bodied and a touch "grainy" with a slightly astringent lingeringly toasty finish. The flavor is of toasted Munich malt and a touch of caramel with lightly fruity hops in the finish. If the it were just a touch smoother on the palate, this would be one of my favorite Märzens. As it stands, it’s still in the top tier of those that I’ve sampled to date.

Shocking that it has taken me this long to try a Sprecher beer. This seasonal pours a dark copper color with a medium light tan head that diminishes pretty quickly. Stringy lacing. Caramel malt aroma with touches of fruit and hops. Medium-bodied and smooth with roasted malt, caramel and plum flavors. Touches of mildly bitter hops are there as well. The finish is short and sweet with a caramel aftertaste. Overall this is an above average Oktoberfest.

Had this beer on 6/12/2000. Aroma is a crisp scent that reminds me of Coors. Color is a bright golden brown with good carbonation and a light head. Taste is carmely and sweet with a slight metallic taste. Starting with a medium body that goes down creamy with a sweet malt taste coming on. The finish comes on with this malt flavor getting a bit stronger baked by a light hop flavor and bitterness. All of this is followed up by a light metallic after taste that seems to fade the more you drink it.

12oz bottle, courtesy of tjthresh. Thanks, Tom! Pours a murky, brownish-yellow color; minimal light tan head with a thin perimeter of bubbles. Hard caramel and dried fruit in the aroma. Blase, lightly carbonated and caramel-driven; orange and fruit presence; light caramel finish. Boring and bland.

Bottle: The aroma has lots of caramel, toffee, and grain. It pours a transparent amber with a small off-white head that fades quickly. The flavor starts with moderate caramel, toffee, and faint fruitiness. It finishes with a moderate grain presence. Light bodied with mild carbonation.
