The nose has a bit of grains. Some malts. The taste is watery and thin but quite earthy and grainy. Not bad overall. GermanBrews76 (667), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 6, 2003 golden straw body, decent carbonation. thin white head which disappeared quickly. Corn, cereal grains and dimethyl sulfide. Saaz hops for sure. Clean, crisp and refreshing. a bit of a citrucy hop bite at the end. A great summer session lager. argo0 (6982), Washington DC, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 2, 2003 (bottle): Clear orange-yellow body with medium off-white head. Aroma is sharp grassy, then some malts -- caramle mostly. Taste starts with a pleasant sweetness that complements the strong but not overwhelming grassy bitterness that dominates this beer. Some floral flavor shows up as the beer warms. Medium body, a bit fuller than I'd expected. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | May 13, 2003 I absolutely love this lager. It's beauty lies in its subtleties, which can easily be missed by those looking for the maltiest or hoppiest beer. A definite yeasty flavor permeates the solid malt body and little bitterness can be found. A session lager of the highest order. flemdawg (485), Naples, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 5, 2003 Updated: May 26, 2003Something about this beer gave me the chills, but not in a good way. The color was good, but there was almost no head. Things started to go downhill with the aroma. I couldnt put my finger on it, but to me it smelled a little like butter. I cant explain it. The taste was nothing to brag about. Over all, a poor offering from this otherwise excellent brewery. Newest thoughts: Had this out of a bottle, and it was much much better. Still nothing to brag about, but it was alot more drinkable. As it warmed, the hops became more evident, and was much easier to drink. Maybe I just had some bad stuff from the tap. awaller05 (301), Sharon, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 11, 2002 A cross between a bohemian pils and a helles lager. Golden color with a white fluffy head. Seems to lack hops for a pils and backbone malt for solid lager. Drinkable, but nothing extraordinary. JFGrind (1354), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Sep 24, 2002 Nothing complex about this about this Pilsner. Poured very with a thin head and almost no carbonation. Hop taste and aroma present but not enough to make this beer as great as other Sprechers I’ve sampled.
