Commercial Description:
Brewed in the northern style of an English ale. This light brown ale has a nice caramel and toasted malt flavor, combined with a fresh hoppy aroma that is slightly fruity. This is nicely complimented by a subtle bitterness that rounds out the palate.

Clear dark amber with decent head but no lacing. Modest nose and light flavors of chocolate, roast coffee and caramel. Not much in the finish. Pleasant, undistinguished.

This was pretty good for what is is. A simple session beer. It is straightforward with malt and processed grain flavor. Dark yellow color.

Bottle via trade with Ughsmash! - Thanks - Pours pale brown with a short white head that stays briefly. Aromas of caramel, slight peanuts, and frosted flakes. Flavor is caramel, slight toffee, and a little brown sugar. Slight hops at the finish. Good body with adequate carbonation.

Light brown color. Smell of malt, caramel, hops, roasted peanuts and toffee. Tastes the same but very refreshing. Nice bitters at the end. I could drink this all the time.

Pours a two finger white head that fades quickly to a shallow layer leaving no lace. Deep red/amber color. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Caramel nose. Starts with a sweet caramel flavor that is not cloying, balanced at finish. $1.69 for a 16oz bottle from John’s Grocery Iowa City, Ia.

Thanks to Degarth for this one. Jeez, it seems like I’ve sampled the entire Sprecher portfolio during the Mysetry Beer Swap. I’m glad to see that Sprecher has reached into Florida, because their beers aren’t bad at all. This one pours deep brown, with a heavy malty caramel corn flakey aroma, plus some brown sugar. The taste is heavy malt, caramel, Wheaties, with brown sugar, hops, and slight nuts. Fairly dense palate.

Nice crystal clear copper color with thin white head. Light aroma of pale malts and some breadiness. The bottle stated “complex flavor” really does come out. I taste pale malts, sweet caramel malts, wheat, toffee, breadiness and a bit of hop bitterness. It all goes together nicely too. Very good for when you’re in the mood to consume mass quantities.

Just what you expect from this style-- front loaded with so much leathery, rich nut-like flavor. It fades away in a pleasant little tale -- this I think is why people call this one drinkable -- though I never found this quality missing in a great many beers. This is a sophisticated beer that has something to say. Now where is Glendale Wisconsin?
