The ale itself is also malty with some hops but doesn’t really taste much etiher way. Not real great. iowaherkeye (1873), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 7, 2006 16oz bottle, I can’t read the squished print to see when it was bottled. Aroma of nuts, vanilla, cereal grains, brown sugar, and some caramel. pours a deep mahogany with a small beige ring of head. Metallic, biscuity, nutty and tart in flavor. Slight bitterness in the finish. Smelled better than it tasted. Moderate carbonation, light bodied. Palidor19 (1792), Brandon, Florida, USA

Got a mild toasty around with a slight hint of maple syrup. Medium body. Nice malts and not too bitter. nick76 (2684), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 14, 2006 The aroma is an odd array of cereal grains (including corn) and wet dog. There is also nuts, caramel, and toasted bread. The appearance is orange/red/brown with a medium head. The flavor is pretty much like the aroma. The palate is average. Overall I like the taste but it has some problems. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 8, 2006 Dark brown with a small beige head. Malty with hints of nuttiness, caramel, buttered toast, alcohol. Smooth mouthfeel, medium body. Slight brown sugar sweetness in the taste, nice bit of hops bitterness in the end. Respectable brown ale. Ughsmash (4076), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 6, 2006 Bottled. Clear, light toffee-brown pour with a tall cap of beige head. Nose was mild with nutty overtones, caramel, and weak earthy spices. Flavor followed suit.. with semi-rich lightly toasted malts leading the way. Light earthy bitterness. Lighter-bodied and smooth, but carbonation felt a bit spritzy around the edges and the finish was a tad murky. Would make a good session brew. AlabastorJones (766), San Francisco, California, USA
