Commercial Description:
Brewed in the northern style of an English ale. This light brown ale has a nice caramel and toasted malt flavor, combined with a fresh hoppy aroma that is slightly fruity. This is nicely complimented by a subtle bitterness that rounds out the palate.

Bottled. A slightly hazy dark amber beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also light notes of alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, leading to a bitter and slightly dry finish. Thanks Papsoe.

(Bottle 48 cl) Courtesy of Degarth. Pours a hazy amber with a small, off-white head. Lightly burned caramel in the nose. A little thin in body with fruit and caramel accents - some overripe fruit also. Very subdued bitterness. 120108

16 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy orange/brown with a diminished off-white head. Caramel malty aroma. Flavour is slight herbal, mild honey like note in a caramel malt base. Finish is light spiced but mainly persisting caramel malt.

Poured a medium and hazy brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of toasted malts, light caramel and I found this one to be a little fruity. Tastes of light caramel, nuts with light hops in the finish. Thinner body.

Pours a deep copper with a grainy aroma. The mouthfeel is earthy, but there is a decent amount of flavor and the finish is mellow.

Light nutty brown color with a tan halo for a head, this has a mild caramel and toast aroma. It’s medium-bodied with a caramel taste lightly accentuated by a easy hop balance. Mildly bitter finish. Nothing special, but a fine session beer.

14 Oct, 02 - (7,2,7,2,13 - 3.1) Brown color with a quickly evaporating light tan head. Mild malt and light citrus aroma. Light brown sugar flavors with a touch of toastiness. A bit watery and sprity in mouthfeel. Finishes with an of bitterness. Noting exciting. Rerate - Did not have the citric components and much smoother on the palate. In fact it was the palate that brought me back to rerate. As I tried it again I found the body to quite smooth and silky and thought that it deserved at least a 4. Found it to be a much better version that the the one in 2002.

Bottle from Keg Liquor. Poured a clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt, nut and fruit aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium balanced toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable brew.
