Pours opaque with a small, frothy, light brown head, diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (molasses, burnt grain, chocolate), average hops (flowers, perfume), average yeast (dough) with notes of raisins, prunes, and alcohol. Full bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, moderate acidity, bitterness, and sweetness. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 28, 2007 Thanks beerlando. Pours a nice dark black brew with little to no head. The aroma is a little off, sweet, soy sauce, a little thin coffee, not too hot. The flavor was thin, not too much substance, a little alcohol. The palate was fairly thin and a fair amount of carbonation. Not a big fan of this one. Hammster (187), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 17, 2007 Bottle. Poured black with an almost black head. Intensely malty aroma of molasses and dark chocolate. The flvor is very sweet malty licorice and molasses. The finish is a robust, thick, lingering flavor. Maybe a little too over the top for an imperial stout and lacking complexity. Will probbaly avoid this in the future. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 9, 2007 Big 1 liter flip top labeled as Brewmaster’s Reserve. Very dark pour with huge brown head. Big on the chocolate and alcohol aromas. Flavor was not quite as nice. Chocolate came through once again in the flavor, but was accompanied by some bitterness that would have been better had it been a nice burnt malt type of bitterness. Not too bad, I was just expecting more after the aroma. yngwie (5000), Kristiansand, Norway
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 1, 2007 Bottle. (thx for sharing, Papsoe) Black body with a small, tan head. Burnt, dryish nose, quite heavy, with mocha and some alcoholl. Dry flavor, quite burnt, with some licorice, mocha and a little alcohol. Full, dry body. Mocha, dried fruits, roasted malt and licorice in the finish. Dangerously quaffable for an imperial stout. (071004) TampaBrew (867), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 30, 2007 Poured dark, but not thick and black like I expected. A little too bitter for this style I thought. I got sick of it after a while. ratman197 (3254), Arvada, Colorado, USA
