Pitch black, oily pour with small dark head. Aroma is big chocolate malt with vanilla extract. Chocolate, coffee, fig, and a drambuie liqueur taste. Wow!! This is unique. Thanks to Solan for getting this in over at Knightly Spirits. This is more of an after dinner drink than a beer. I can’t wait to taste the rest of this sampler pack.

Bottle. Pours black with a small tan head that quickly disappears. The aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruits, and vanilla. The flavor is heavy on the roasted malts with light coffee, chocolate, and vinous character. The finish is a little dry. Medium-full mouthfeel with a velvety texture. I don’t know if it is necessarily an Impy, but a very good stout none the less.

Pours black with a small light brown diminishing head. Smells of alcohol and toasted malts. Sweet and slightly bitter with aromas of dark chocolate, prunes, wood and tobacco. Full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. Also some minerals. Metallic, bitter finish.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is slightly oxidized combined with notes of over ripe fruits and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate, malt, and bread, but also with a slight touch of oxidation combined with a light hop bite.
