| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 2, 2007 Clear amber orange body with a small offwhite head. Aroma of caramel and spicy hops. Nicely balanced lager with a clean and crisp feel. Caramel maltiness and spicy hops finish slightly on the bitter side. Another excellent German style lager from Sprecher. jfenglish (215), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 2, 2007 16 oz bottle. Nice amber ale. Can’t really say anything new or special here. Enjoyable brew- a little on the sweeter side and prevalent alcohol. wxman (588), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 29, 2007 Pours a clear amber with an OK white head that coats the glass. Toasted sweet malt aroma along with wet bread characteristics. Sweet malt, caramel, and grassiness in the taste; slightly tart and bitter. Clean, crisp, and refreshing, but not exceptional. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 25, 2007 500 ml bottle. Deep amber coloured brew. Very fresh vienna malt aroma, bread crust, light toast and a hint of brown sugar/caramel. Clean maltiness. Rich and sweet tasting. A touch of faint smokiness appears toward the finish. Soft hoppiness just keeps this balanced, but I can see how some might find it cloying. I don’t and think it’s an excellent example of the style. PorterPounder (3147), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 24, 2007 Murky, medium orange pour with a slight white head. Bit of a worty aroma, some molasses. Flavor has some raisins, molasses, a bit of caramel, good rib sticking flavor. Sticky mouthfeel....leaning to the cloying side near the end though. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 11, 2007 This beer came in my beer club - I am not familiar with the brewer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel-amber color with a medium sized foamy yellow-white head. The aroma was tangy, nutty and vaguely off - but not quite skunky. The flavor was lightly bitter, yeasty and tangy with a dryish finish. prosqtor (408), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 11, 2007 Fizzy and a lot stronger in aroma than I think it should be...maybe because it’s a Vienna and not an Amber? I wish Sprecher would call it what it is. Anyway, it’s a good beer, often makes a decent alternative on tap in Wisconsin to the macro swill, without making the drinker appear too pretentious.
