Commercial Description:
A delicate balance of toasted malt and fresh hops give this medium-bodied German style lager an intriguing complex flavor. A creamy head, deep golden color and an impressive hop bouquet make this a very special beer.

A quickly diminshes though initially towering foamy white head. Sparkling amber body. Light nutty and bready aroma with light toffee and floral hops. The flavor is a real delight, sweetness up front, then some nuttiness, finally a brilliant crisp bitter hop bite. Really quite hoppy. Crisp bitter finish with a medium body. Excellent.

Mmmm. Amber, great head, white and puffy. Good malt nose, creamy caramel, flavor is at first very sweet with loads of caramel and good chewy toffee, then come a surprising load of big hops at the end as a surprise. Very sticky and creamy. I’d drink this damn often if it was in my area.

Foamy head that went away quickly. Nice clear red color. Couldn’t smell much. On tap, in a bar, perhaps that’s why. Isn’t pleasurable or disappealing. Low in carbonation and texture. Had a bit of malt flavor with a pleasing finish. Notice the hops when I swallowed. Resampled 7/16 and it was much better.

Ap: nice golden color w/ a large bubbled thick white head Ar: weak faint aroma of earthy and a bit of stale hops. Pa: a little thin but some creaminess to it to light Flvr: touch of hop and touch of malt pretty plain though Ovrl not bad but its pretty blah and at least cheap

At the outset this strikes me as much like an "Extra Special Bitter", though pure examples of the latter tend to be maltier and more rust-colored. The aroma of Sprecher Spezial is superb, very rich and buttery, high-gravity and extremely hopped; and these elements last to the final drop. The flavor is similar -- very straightforward and hoppy with undertones of fine malt and licorice. I realize I’m on the higher end of the scale for this one, but I stand by my rating in that it has three elements I prize: hop-bitterness, richness and economy!

verynice pour. golden amber body, creamy soft white top. Fresh, light grain aroma with a hint of spicy/musty hops. caramely! some dmso. lots of toasty grains, a hint of resinous hop lingers. a good session/food beer. I think PhillyBeer2112 had it right with Pizza

A nice nearly authentic Vienna lager. Pale amber color, tight pitted head. Nice toasted almond aroma, toffeeish. Smooth, fairly clean, a little musty gunpowder hop finish. Festive. A good food beer, esp. pizza.

toasty buttery aroma, largish head on a light amber beer. a touch of yeast which detracts from the overall cleanliness of the beer, but apart from that and a thinnish mouthfeel, not a bad vienna.
