clear, deep amber color, very thick beige head. nice malty, slightly nutty aroma...this is nice, i’ve had too many ales lately. quite a sweetness to the aroma...not cloyingly so, however. flavor is sweet, with mild dark fruits, fairly thin-bodied, but overall quite decent. sprecher never disappoints me.

Dark brown ruby beer. Foamy cream edges. No Head. Smells like carmel, burnt marshmallow, raisin/prunes. Great smell. I like the bitterness in the flavor but it ends with a kind of metallic taste. Nice coffee overtones. Pretty nice bock.

Dark brown like a brown ale color. Good size initial head. Sweet toffy caramel malt aroma. Some hints of roasted malts. Medium body, slight oily feel. good overall mouthffeel with good carbonation. Decent flavor if a bit weak. Caramel malt faint hops and lager yeast. Overall would be better if pumped up a bit with some more malt and a bit less water.

Not as bad as I originally decreed. Smelled of licorice, coffee and earthen roots. In the mouth, it was smooth chocolate malts and some caramel notions to keep it mellow. An a-traditional winter warmer, but a decent effort, nonetheless.

On tap at the brewery 11/26/2004 Dark amber appearance with small head and little lace. Aroma of roasty malt and winter spice. Flavor is roasty with fruit notes and hoppy with a nice rich palate. Overall, not bad.
