Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry and Blankboy, Harry’s bottle. Very dark brown, small white head. Burnt cola aroma, quite nice actually. That same burnt cola appears int he taste as well, good malt base here, somewhat dry. I wish I took more notes, as I really enjoyed this one.

Bottle (500ml). Shared with blankboy and tupalev, my bottle. Deep clear ruby pour, average diminishing tan creamy head. Dry deep roast aroma, nutty and somewhat sweet, hint of molasses. The taste is sweeter and a bit syrupy, some dry bitterness in the finish. Pretty thick, syrupy body, slight astringency, but nice carbonization in the linger. Damn fine!

Bottle: Pours auburn brown with a creamy tan head. Dark German malt aroma. Slightly doughy with a sweet spice hint, simple aroma. The body has a very creamy texture. Velvety, full and smooth carbonation. The flavor is richer than the aroma with a nice roast to it. Less sweet than the aroma suggests. Dark and toasted German malt character and a very mildly peppery bitterness to balance. The late finish has residual roasted, cocoa like sugestions. A well crafted German style dark lager.

Bottle. Mahogany color with a frothy beige head. Malty aromas of dark toffee and cake. Caramel to toffee malt flavors, with an underlying grainy character. Not too sweet. Dry toasty and earthy notes. Medium to full bodied with even carbonation. Overall a balanced and drinkable dark lager.

Dark brown with decent, tan head / Toasty, sweet caramel nose / LIght body with spritzy carbonation and faint finish / Simple, light flavors of roast barley, burnt caramel, nuts, coca cola, and coffee / Nothing special, a little too light, but I wouldn’t turn one down.

Pours out dark molasses color with a thick off white head. Big caramel molasses aroma. I get the feeling after a few sprecher selections that this brewery really likes the caramel malt, because it is in every beer! Taste is nice and malty with a touch of sweetness. A little hop bite lingers in the aftertaste.
