bottle - Pours dark brown with a small, fading head. The aroma is light and mostly of malts. The flavor is dominated by sweet, roasted malts with some caramel notes and a bit of hops in the finish. The carbonation is livelier than expected, but not unpleasantly so. The body is a little thinner than I would have liked in a winter brew, but not bad. Overall it’s a pretty good brew.

Pretty much a grainey aroma with some spice, a dark mahagoney color taste like a malty cherry cola with spicey sweetness nice smooth aftertaste,might be a little past it s prime

Sprecher Winter Brew is a phenomenal example of bock beer. It is rich, malty, toasty, nutty, soothing and warming. Without a doubt one of, if not the most impressive bock beers I have ever tasted in all my years of drinking beer. Sprecher Winter Brew pours to a deep, bright, chestnut brown color, with a nice tan head, and a moderate amount of carbonation. The nose is a joy. Waves of sweet malt, toast, and nutty aromas flood the nose. The palate is full and round with fantastic sweet malt flavor paired with more toasty and nutty flavors. This beer finishes with more sweet malt up front, then glides down with a slick, soothing, warming alcohol burn. This beer is perfection in a glass and a masterpiece of the brewers art. I wouldn’t dare pair this with food. This one is to be sipped and savored. A world class brew from one of America’s greatest breweries. This beer is the perfect winter brew, but you could enjoy this as an after dinner beer or night cap year round. Take some advice, if you see this beer, what ever time of the year it is, buy as much of it as you can.

Draft - I did not realize this was a bck until reading it just now. I thought it was a Porter because it had the usual characteristics of one. Had some nice nutty chocolate flavors and was very nice. A bit thin.

fizzy, moderately dense, fading head. Puffed rice, slightly malty aroma. flavor is nicely sweet and malty. bitter, dry finish. a solid brew.

Dark cola brown. Fluffy thick lasting light tan head. Fruity hops and brown caramel aroma. A little too much roasty sweetness. Slightly dry smokey caramel, some sweet fruit. Chocolatey licorice.

dark black pour small small bubbled brown head w/ ok lacing. Aroma is a sweet light carmel malt some barley and touches of lactose but very light. Fairly good carbonation and nice coating. Some light carmel malt grains barley and a real light grass hop w/ some hints of roastiness. Seems like to small a beer for a winter.

Roasted malts and caramel/toffee sweetness nicely balanced. Surprisingly spritzy on the palate, and very refreshing. Some honey, mollasses and brown sugar notes as well...but mainly caramel.
