Commercial Description:
Dark, robust body beer with a well balanced smoky flavor. The grain is smoked in a 100 year old smoke house in Lancaster County. This beer, by far, surpasses industry craftsmanship and is another great Limited Edition series produced from this small secret located in Southern Lancaster County!

Bottle. Pours a dark brune body with a mostly white head. Smoked malt, peat, campfire, salty bacon a smokey dominated malt aroma. Flavor is similar smoked ham, bacon, rauch with a mild warming and char. A nice smoked ale.

750ml Bottle (Very tough cork): Aroma of smoke, Bamburg wood, smoked meat, and slight ash. Poured brown in color with a small, tan head that diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer. Clear. Not sparkling. Flavor is neither sweet nor bitter. Tastes of smoke, Bamburg wood, smoked meat, ash, fireplace, and light wood. Medium body. Dry texture. Soft carbonation. Smoke, Bamburg wood, and light smoked meat finish is dry. Very smoky, but not much to the body or overall palate. 9%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

Sampled @ the brewery and from growler. Nice medium sized tan head, retention is very good as is the lacing. An almost black brew though ruby highlights do show through. Nose is meaty, smokey with some faint malts coming through. Body is medium, lightly oily, slick sorta chewy. Plenty of smokiness for yous smoke lovers backed by some nice roast notes, light woodiness and some faint chocolate notes as well. Did,nt even realize its runnin 8.5% ABV, wouldnt know it.Dry, roasty smokey finish. Might age well and lay down some of the smokey flavors that i,m not really a fan of. I think Smoked fans would enjoy this brew. Better than expected.

On tap at the KSBF ’09. Poured a dark brown (almost black) color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of smoke, some smoke meatiness, and roasty. Tastes of the same smokiness, roast, and had a light bitter finish. Not overly smoky. Body on the thinner side.

On tap at Lancaster beer fest: aroma was strongly smokey with notes of bacon and bologna. flavor was rich and malty with loads of smoke character. body was quite lean for a porter, the biggest flaw in the beer, but I really enjoyed the flavor.

Growler courtesy of afire, thanks Waylo! Poured in a glass stein-a dark brown with a long lasting tan head. Smoke wood throughout, I like these smoked beers. This seemed light (clear) for a smoked beer but the smokey bitterness kind of wore on me a little. As it warmed I warmed up to it. Good Porter, one to sip and relax.

Brewed in the USA, Courtesy of AFI96, thanks Waylo. Pours a very dark brown color with a small tan head. The aroma is Super smoky with a hint of burnt wood......... The taste is much of the same with a slight bitter finish. The longer you drink this porter you kind of get use to it.
