Bottle poured into a tulip glass produced a finger worth of white head that didn’t last long, and settled to a thin lace. The body of the brew was a hazy yellow.
The first thing I noticed was a wonderful hoppy aroma, nice floral, and piney. The only concern was the flavor. The yeast fruitiness was a little to dominate for me it was hard to pick up the nice malty backbone I look for in a pale. I did enjoy it, the hops were right on in my book. It was light and crisp in my mouth and extremely drinkable

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 21, 2009 (16 oz. bottle (batch 3) from Rising Tide) Hop bomb...Pours cloudy pale golden, cloudier and more amber as it gets deeper in the bottle. Very tall foamy off-white head slowly recedes to a big foamy, frothy sloppy cap. Big hoppy, resiny aroma of grapefruit and pine. Mouthfeel fairly smooth, a bit thin, lightly carbonated. Palate becomes a little thicker deeper in the bottle. Big, sticky, sloppy foamy lacing all along inside of shaker. Flavor is all about the hops - sharp grapefruit rind and lighter pine. Medium-heavy bitter. Malt base is barely discernible. Has kind of a rough feel to it. Like a mini Alpha King. mar (1916), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 9, 2009 My Bottom Line:
A tantalizing grassy and coniferous hop perfume leads to a much quieter flavor profile where citrus fruit and bready yeast attempt to add character. This foamy American-style Pale Ale shows a lot of promise for a new brewery.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A whipped cream-like tower of foam thrones atop the cloudy blond.
-There’s too much yeast in the bottle for the delicate malt flavors to stand out.
-That dry-hop perfume is just beautiful. If only the flavor profile carried through, we’d have a world class beer here.
-The very lean body makes this very drinkable, but then again few malt flavors come through.
-A gracious grassy hop bitterness lasts long.
-Effervescence might be a tad overdone.
Bottle; merci Marc!
