Explosive vanilla and coffee bean nose, creamy, hazelnut hinting and candyish. The pour is straight black, wearing a lasting rocky foam. Supporting perfumey hops show insufficient and leave more room for the milky and cola-ish nature to develop. Moderately high carbonation for the style, full of small bubbles, rather medicinal, lactic and sour which doesn’t work too well, though the restrained roastiness helps.

GABF 2005: Opaque with a small fading fizzy head and some oily ring. The aroma has notes of cherries, vanilla, mocha, tofee, and earthy yeast esters. The taste was more of the same with the cherry and vanilla flavors upfront and a lactic or is it fruit sourness on the finish. What starts nice ended up some what stand-offish.

GABF 05. Pours a rich black. Aroma is raisin and candy. Flavor is cherry and vanilla with a sour finish. Palate coats nicely.

Black pour thick brown head. Roasted malts bitter cherries and some spices. Well coated and carbonated. not creamy but kind of fluffy in your mouth. Flavor is vanilla over roasted malt some lightly bitter cherry. Odd but pretty good.

22 oz bottle. Drank at KC Bier Meisters meeting. Black with tan head. Malt, aroma with some bitter coffee, and fruits. Taste is almost cloying, sugary cherry to start that is washed away by a bit of pure alcohol. Off putting sourness? Once the nasty fake cherry and the everclear taste wears off, you are left with nothing. Oily mouthfeel. Just plain nasty. I tried to find a picture and found out the beer is a cherry vanilla imperial stout brewed for their 7th anniverary
