| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 1, 2007 Cask- Poured a pitch black with a massive light head, huge lacing on the glass. Big nitro cascades within the body lend a deep brown aura. Aroma is very smooth and strong. Nutty, bready, and coffee notes are intertwined with sweet dark chocolate and a minor tobacco note. Flavor is very dry, almost no sweetness to speak for. Roasted coffee and unsweetened chcolate dominate, with a bit of hop "pepper" notes, and a very, very faint alcohol note, followed by a grassy dry finish. Exceptional. tjthresh (1780), Greenfield, Indiana, USA

Black with a nice tan head. Strong roast with a slight hop aroma. The flavor is quit roasted with some good coffee and a bit of a twang. Light body with a dry finish. Good beer.
