Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular.
A burnished copper coloured bitter and a stunning combination of malt and hops assault the palate; The fruitiness comes next and then a long dry finish.

Hand pulled somewhere. Chestnut/ruby bitter. Great flavour: hoppy, some fruit & thick. Greta hops belnd is the key. Lovely balance. Really good bitter.

Cask conditioned at The Watermill inn, Ings, Cumbria. Copper coloured with white head. What an unusual bitter, I get an initial burnt treacle note with a touch of molasses, touches of toffee then a sharpish pinewood finish. I enjoyed this beer for its variety and its good that a brewery will try beers like this. And the name? Well it marks the turning of the Civil War where the parliamentary forces were linked with the Scots. The hated King Charles 1st surrendered to the Scots at Newark (the Brewery location), after a further Royalist uprising he was finally beheaded 3 years later, and this is how it should have stayed, however we made the same mistakes 12 years later and we are still paying today.

Cask conditioned @ Standing Order (JDW), Soton. Almost cidery apple aromas. Thin with cardboardy mouthfeel and a relatively normal hoppy finish.

I do not know what the name is about, but it was really bitter, like too much hops in it, it was good, and the foam was bubbling, it was thewre after all.

Cask conditioned and handpulled at the Old Joint Stock, Birmingham. A fairly plane jane bitter, better when it warmed up a bit (the downfall of many a beer here)
