Commercial Description:
Our tribute to Belgian brewing history, our tripel has a complex fruitiness with a buttery finish like a fine chardonnay. This beer transcends all definitions of the Belgian style!

A very sweet, very yeasty beer. A lot to it but generally unbalanced. Good with food, but on it’s own it’s a bit uneven.

Enjoyed at the brewpub. Pour is a golden with an interesting hue. A nice thick light gold head never did go away. Aroma was yeast at first then fruit. Alcohol, as well. Flavor matched aroma and it was surprisingly bitter with a bit of chemical. It was creamy and smooth, in part because of that foam. The fruit notes grew as the beer warmed. A dry aftertaste and then a big alcohol aftertaste came very late.

On tap at the brewery, slightly cloudy honey gold hue, with a white head, at first ,yeasty, weird kind of detergent smell, than the fruity honeyed ripe apple accent is emerging, with a sweet pale malt, spicy notes, in a warmth aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate, with a yeasty, ripe apple, cinnamon-like character, with some honeyed pale malt, faint citrus notes, a hint of clove spiciness, within warming mouthfeel, leading towards a spicy, fruity finish.

On tap at the brewpub 11/13/08. Very yellow, cloudy pour with no head. Nose of spices, funky yeast, hops. Smoky bar didn’t help the nose test. Taste of sweetness, sugar, spiciness, and alcohol-but not overbearingly so. Nice take on the Belgium tripel. This brewery is brewing much better beers than a year ago.

Pours hazy yellow with a white head. The aroma has banana, rich malt, full spiciness and light fruitiness. The body starts rich and thick and then ends thinner and has sharp carbonation. Th aroma has the aroma traits and a very pronounced alcohol presence. The taste is a bit muddled, but still pleasant. This is a fairly dry beer for both the style and the brewery. Decent beer.

On tap at the brewpub. I didn’t want to include the ABV since I’m not sure, but it’s got to be 9-10%. Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a minimal head that soon disappears. Aroma of clove and citrus. Taste is astringent, but well within the style. Sharp, alcohol-dominated, yet sweet pale malt flavor. Some pleasant sourness is in there too along with banana and clove. Quite good!
